Lovely evening!
Lovely performance. Costumes were beautiful! I loved to see the diversity amongst the dancers.
Dancers sat in Audience Act II
December 23, 7:30 pm performance. Ohio Theatre. Guess what? Small group of dancers came out for Act II and took seats in Audience - whispered and critiqued during the entire Act II about how this wasn’t done correctly, this was missed, that should have happened there, etc. Sat in back of us so we had that in our ears during the entire Act II. Pretty unreal that people are paying good money to see this and to have their experience of the ballet ruined. To the dancers: stay back stage and critique in private if that’s your reason for coming into the audience. Don’t spoil it for others.
The Nutcracker Ballet Met Dec 16 2022
The pandemic clearly has taken a terrible toll on Ballet Met The poor quality of the ballet technique of some of the featured adult dancers and most all of the children performing was pretty shocking While a few beautiful dancers certainly stood out they were severely eclipsed by the abundant mediocre to poor dancers My seats were $150 each; the performance was more of a $25 ticket experience In 2019 I was bragging about what a great company of talent and professionalism Ballet Met had become Under the new director The dancers were awe inspiring, with gorgeous technique, and mesmerizing to watch - first class Better than Ballet Met had ever been Those days are clearly gone; shocked does not begin to describe the performance I saw last night It was so disappointing we left early Do not recommend
No LIVE Orchestra
NO LIVE ORCHESTRA. NEED NOT SAY MORE. VERY DISAPPOINTING. TOOK AWAY FROM THE MAGIC OF THE PERFORMANCE.
Ballet Met Nutcracker
A poor performance with no changes to the set designs and no Orchestra was as disappointing to the adults as it was to our children. Save your money and watch it on TV until this product returns to pre pandemic level of entertainment.
Students need polish
The orchestra was spectacular. Thankfully we had perfect seats to see it and the dancers. For the money paid for the Sat Dec 14 five thirty performance I expected much more polish from the dancers. It was not our understanding that the students would be a part of this. In the past I have attended my hometown Nutcracker and really expected this to be far superior. It was not. I did take my 5 yr. old grand daughter who loves ballet. I would say it could be great for the little girls. If the New York show was done by the professionals I would say bravo and go. The seats were fabulous and we could see the entire Columbus show.
